Get the child to live moments of exception to counterbalance to difficult times imposed by the disease
These children go through extremely difficult times at a very early stage in their life. The feeling of injustice is tremendous. Bad news keep pouring in, giving the child and his family hardly any time to recover.
Throughout years of experience, « Sourire à la vie » has led interviews with children and adults, thus giving them a break from the constant influx of bad news and allowing time for positive encounters.
In the wake of this work, great programs are led that give children an opportunity to overcome their condition as patients.
The year is thus organized to enroll the child in program that will require his full engagement : dog-sled expeditions in north Canada, swim out with dolphins, sailing a 17m catamaran, performing alongside with great artists such as Grand Corps Malade, being on a movie-set in New York…
So many projects that will take him far from the hospital and lead him in a world of adventure that will require months of training. He will also be caught up in a world of emotions and pride.
This goal is also available to children undergoing palliative nursing (so long as it is possible) in order to walk hand in hand with them through the end of life. We have deliberately chosen not to communicate on this aspect of our program.
